Petersson Leads Tigers After First Day of Northwest Collegiate Classic

Pacific junior Thomas Petersson (Stockholm, Sweden) shot a first day 73-72=145 to lead the Tigers at the Northwest Collegiate Classic, Monday, Sept. 19.

The Tigers, playing the 7,070-yard Trysting Tree Golf Club, shot a team score of 298-300=598. Petersson's 145 first day score put him in a tie for 27th after the first two rounds of the 54-hole event. Sophomore Chris Rosenau (Redding, Calif.) shot a 149 to finish in a tie for 55th.

Sophomores Brett Giurlani (Menlo Park, Calif.) and Charles Van Sicklen (Stockton, Calif.) both posted 36-hole scores of 152.

Host Oregon State is in the lead after 36-holes, shooting a combined 285-275=560; Vincent Johnson of the Beavers shot a 67-66=133 to currently sit atop the leaderboard.
