Oct. 25, 2005

San Jose, Calif. - The Pacific men's golf team remained consistant at the Santa Clara Invitational Oct. 24-25, posting team scores of 301-304-309 at the Silver Creek Country Club. Sophomore Chris Rosenau (Redding, Calif.) paced the Tigers with a second round, team-best 72 on his way to a 20th place finish.

Rosenau shot an opening round of 76 and followed up with an even 72 to close out the first day; returning with a 75 at the 6,926-yard course. Junior Thomas Petersson (Stockholm, Sweden) posted a 54-hole score of 228 to tie for 34th.

Freshman Adam Beckman (Lodi, Calif.) shot a final round 75 to put him in a tie for 41st while senior Gordian Curtius (Lindau, Germany) and sophomore Charles Van Sicklen (Stockton, Calif.) both finished at 241.

Boise State took the team title with a tournament best 287-291-289=867 and Loyola Marymount's Brian Locke, shot a first round 64 to all but lock up individual honors (64-68-73=205).

Rosenau and Petersson remain the two most consistant golfers for the Tigers this season, playing almost identical golf through the first four tournaments of the year. Through 12 rounds Petersson's 74.6 scoring average (896) is only two strokes better than Rosenau's at 74.8 (898). Beckman continues to play strong golf for Pacific as well, shooting seven of his nine rounds in the 70's with a team-low 70 at the Lexus Classic on Oct. 14.

The Tigers conclude their fall season with the Countrywide Home Loans Intercollegiate in Northridge, Calif. on November 7-8.
