Rosenau Paces Tigers At The Prestige

La Quinta, Calif. - Sophomore Chris Rosenau finished tied for 23rd at The Prestige, Tuesday, Oct. 18, leading Pacific men's golf to a 16th place team finish at the PGA West course.

Rosenau fired two rounds of 75 before coming back strong in his final 18-holes and posting an even round 71. As a team the Tigers shot cumulative scores of 307-307-300=910 at the 6,776-yard Greg Norman course.

After a lightning shortened round two yesterday, play resumed early this morning as players finished up their second round and played the final 18 of the 54-hole tournament this afternoon. With Rosenau leading the team, junior Thomas Petersson and sophomore Adam Beckman each finished in a tie for 55th with a score of 228 as Peterson shot 75-78-75, while Beckman shot an opening round 72 before shooting back-to-back 78s.

UCLA took home the team championship finishing as the lone team under par for the tournament with a four under, 860, over the three rounds. Individually, Tim Cha of UC Irvine took home the tournament title as he came in with back-to-back 70's in the final two rounds to shoot a three under, 213.

The Tigers will next be in action at the Santa Clara Invitational hosted by Santa Clara University. The opening rounds will be played on October 24 followed by the third and final round on October 25.
