Freshman Adam Beckman (Lodi, Calif.) leads the Tigers Monday, Oct. 17 at The Prestige in Fresno, Calif. with an opening round of 72. Play was suspended due to lightning midway through the second round.
Beckman fired a first round 72 at the Greg Norman course at PGA West and followed up with a +2 for the first 14 holes before play was halted. Junior Thomas Petersson (Stockholm, Sweden) is close behind as both he and sophomore Chris Rosenau (Redding, Calif.) posted first round 75's on the 6,776-yard, par 71 course.
UCLA currently holds the team points lead with their own Lucas Lee firing an opening 70.
Play will resume early Tuesday morning as the field finishes their remaining second round and plays the final 18 holes of the 54-hole tournament Tuesday afternoon.
