STOCKTON, Calif. – Director of Track & Field and Cross Country
Cherise Roberts announced the addition of Kendrick Lewis as an assistant coach on Tuesday morning.
"I'm excited that Kendrick Lewis has accepted the opportunity to work with our team," Roberts said. "His tenacious and humble attitude has me excited for the future of our program. I look forward to seeing his hard work ethic and energy reflected in our team culture."
A former two-time nationally ranked triple jumper at UNC Pembroke, Lewis will work directly with the Tigers' jumps and sprints events athletes in the upcoming 2027 season.
"Being a part of the University of the Pacific is a dream come true; the goal isn't to just create better athletes-- it's to develop better people!" Lewis said. "I coach athletes to believe in what they're capable of, commit to the process, and become the best version of themselves on the track and in life. Here at Pacific, we don't just train for the finish line, we train for everything it takes to get there. Thank you Coach Roberts for welcoming me here!"
While at UNC Pembroke, Lewis helped lead the indoor and outdoor programs to runner-up finishes at the Conference Carolinas Championships in both 2023 and 2024.
The Raleigh native was a three-time Field MVP Award winner there and also spent a year as an intern with the Athletic Performance staff where he helped design workout plans.
Lewis graduated from UNC Pembroke in December 2023 with a degree in exercise & sport science and earned a master's degree in sports administration in December 2025.
