STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific Athletic Director
Adam Tschuor announced that Interim Cross Country/Track & Field Head Coach
Cherise Roberts has been promoted to Director of Track & Field and Cross Country on Tuesday afternoon after joining the program last season as an assistant coach.
"I could not be more excited to name
Cherise Roberts as our new Director of Track & Field and Cross-Country programs. Her boundless enthusiasm, experience, and buy-in that she has been able to instill in our student-athletes is simply amazing and we are all extremely fortunate to continue to have her and her family be a part of the Pacific family," Tschuor said.
Â
In the first season of Pacific men's cross country, Roberts helped lead the Tigers to three top five finishes in seven meets. Meanwhile, her work with the women's side of the program helped break a six-year school record in the six-kilometer event.
Last season's track and field team was one of the most successful to date, breaking a combined 22 school records between both the men's and women's teams while rising senior
Jack Weber won the one-mile race at the MPSF Indoor Championships.
"I'm incredibly honored and grateful to be named the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country at the University of the Pacific. I want to sincerely thank Athletic Director
Adam Tschuor,
Wes Yourth,
Leslie Chang,
Wendy Cornwall, and Maria Blandizzi for their trust, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout this journey," Roberts said.
Â
"I'm excited to continue growing our program, expanding opportunities for more student-athletes, and helping each individual reach their highest potential in their event and beyond. I look forward to building a culture of excellence, hard work, and development while representing the University of the Pacific with pride.
Â
Roberts was last a head coach for Lindsey Wilson's men's and women's cross-country programs, an NAIA school in Columbia, Kentucky during the 2024-25 season but before that was an assistant coach for a highly touted BYU program.
