SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Pacific women's basketball program allowed San Francisco to hit 11 three-pointers to the Tigers' four in an 80-67 loss to the Dons Saturday afternoon at the Sobrato Center.
San Francisco (12-13, 9-7 WCC) is just the third team all season to eclipse ten three-pointers against the Tigers (12-15, 8-9 WCC) but did so with an efficient 45.8% shooting clip.
Graduate
Liz Smith tied for the game-high with 18 points (6-for-12 shooting and 2-for-5 three-point), matching her best showings in points, field goals made and three-pointers made in the last five games. Senior
Elizabeth Elliott tried to compliment Smith as the post presence of an inside-out combo that netted the senior 14 points and nine rebounds.
Of Elliott's nine rebounds, five came on the offensive glass as she continues to close in on becoming the third Tiger in program history to reach 300 career offensive boards. She currently has 270 with four guaranteed games remaining. Elliott also tallied a season high three blocks.
Freshman
Daria Nestorov made her first collegiate start in the contest and produced eight points and an assist across 24 minutes of play.
Continuing to showcase her prowess blocking shots, junior
Sydney Ward added three more to her season ledger to now stand at 34. In just four more blocks she will tie
Valerie Higgins for the most single season blocks in the Head Coach
Bradley Davis era.
Up next the Tigers play only one in the coming week, traveling to LMU to vie for a season sweep of the Lions on Thursday. Tip off from Gersten Pavilion is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
