Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Complete Effort Leads Pacific Past Gonzaga

SPOKANE, Wash. – Double-Doubles from graduates Alexa Edwards, Darina Kumanova, and sophomore Dylan Gilkey highlighted Pacific volleyball's 3-1 (25-23, 25-20, 24-26, 25-20) win over Gonzaga on Saturday afternoon from the Charlotte Y. Martin Centre.

Edwards' double-double, 22 kills and 21 digs, is Pacific's (15-10, 5-8 WCC) first 20/20 game since at least the 2009 season. Today's match also signified her 10th 20-plus kill match of the season. She has also gotten more involved in the block, combining for three blocks on the afternoon to give her at least three blocks per match in five of the last seven.

The 11 kills for Kumanova is her first time registering double digit kills since Oct. 5 against Santa Clara. And with a .310 hitting percentage, it's her most efficient such outing since swinging for 11 kills on a .421 percentage against CSU Bakersfield earlier this season. The graduate was also a force from the service line, ending the contest with a new career high four aces. The West Coast Conference leader in aces now sits at 38 aces on the season.

Setting up both graduates was setter Dylan Gilkey, who served as Pacific's primary setter during the match. The sophomore's 48 assists across the afternoon more than doubled her previous career high (22 on Oct. 5, 2023, at LMU), while her two kills match the number of kills she registered last season combined. Add in 15 digs and she has her first double-double of the season and the second of her career.

Junior Jayhlin Swain led the Tigers with a season-high 27 digs and continued to serve effectively, adding three more aces to bring her season total up to 22. Freshman Zoe John and junior Emily Van Groningen both notched double-digit kills with 11 and 10 respectively.

Gonzaga (1-22, 0-13 WCC) was led offensively by Maggie Rickert's 12 kills.

Looking ahead on the schedule, Pacific plays four of its final five matches of the regular season inside the Alex G. Spanos Center, beginning with Oregon State at 6 p.m. Thursday. All remaining matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
