PULLMAN, Wash. – Pacific volleyball forced Washington State to extra points in both the first and second sets but were unable to make the plays to shift the momentum in a 3-0 (26-24, 27-25, 25-19) final at Bohlen Gym on Thursday night.
Reigning WCC Offensive Player of the Week, graduate
Alexa Edwards, finished with 14 kills for the Tigers (14-10, 4-8 WCC) while also contributing nine digs and a block. Fellow graduate
Darina Kumanova added 10 blocks.
Senior setter
Jenna Heller turned in Pacific's lone double-double on the night, finishing with 34 assists and 10 digs.
Junior
Jayhlin Swain continued her hot streak from the service line, adding two more aces to her ledger this season to bring her total to 19 – she has also served at least one ace a match in the previous four and served multiple aces in consecutive matches.
Washington State (13-8, 8-4 WCC) was led offensively by the combo of Sage Brustad and Katy Ryan who each swung for 14 kills.
Pacific remains in the Evergreen State for its next match, traveling to Gonzaga to face the Bulldogs on Saturday at 12 p.m.
That match will be streamed on ESPN+.
