STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific volleyball program fought hard but ultimately dropped a 3-1 (25-16, 25-22, 20-25, 25-18) contest to the Pepperdine Waves on Saturday afternoon in the Alex G. Spanos Center.
Graduate
Alexa Edwards added 13 more kills to her season total and moved into ninth all-time in single season kills in school history with her 517. Another three kills from the graduate and she would move past Jayne Gibson (1980).
Edwards was one of two Tigers (17-12, 7-10 WCC) to notch double doubles on the afternoon, adding 13 digs alongside her kills. The other was senior
Jenna Heller with her 17 assists and 11 digs.
Heller was not the only option assisting the Pacific attack, as sophomore
Dylan Gilkey dished a team-high 22 assists and has gone for 20 or more assists in consecutive matches for the first time in her career.
Junior
Jayhlin Swain led the Tigers with 19 digs across the afternoon, while graduate
Darina Kumanova was right behind her with 16.
The graduate was one of three Tigers to finish the match with nine kills, joining senior
Abby Miller and junior
Emily Van Groningen.
Coming up for Pacific is the regular season finale against Portland. The match is also Senior Day, where the program will recognize the seven seniors and graduate's contributions to the team. First ball is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Saturday can be watched on ESPN+.
