NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Pacific women's basketball program dropped an 84-50 decision to Columbia on Wednesday at Levien Gymnasium.
It was a tough shooting night for Pacific (2-3), which went 15-of-50 from the field. Graduate
Liz Smith led the team with 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
The Tigers (2-3) trimmed an 11-point first quarter deficit as low as four early through the second quarter with a 7-0 spurt. However, a 19-2 Columbia (4-1) run in response drew the lead out to 21 with just over a minute to go before halftime.
Senior
Elizabeth Elliott finished the night with five rebounds to lead the Pacific, including three offensive rebounds.
Columbia, which made the NCAA Tournament last year and finished 23-7 overall and 13-1 in the Ivy League, was 14-of-30 for long range.
The Tigers finish off their northeastern swing with a trip to Yale to face the Bulldogs in New Haven, Connecticut. Tipoff from the John J. Lee Amphitheater is set for 9 a.m. pacific time and can be seen on ESPN+.
