STOCKTON, Calif. – The
Pacific volleyball program was unable to string together enough plays to defeat the San Diego Toreros and fell 3-0 (20-25, 14-25, 16-25) Thursday at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
Freshman
Zoe John tied for the match lead with 11 kills, marking the first time the outside hitter has posted consecutive double digit kill matches in her collegiate career.
Facilitating the ball were the combination of sophomore setter
Dylan Gilkey and senior setter
Jenna Heller, the former of which went for 11 assists and surpassed her production from the previous four games combined. For Heller's part, 15 assists give her an even 750 on the year and on pace to eclipse 1,000 assists in a season for the second time in her career.
Defensively Pacific allowed San Diego to hit .360, making the Toreros only the second team this season to hit north of .250 on the Tigers.
Looking forward, Pacific is off until Thursday, Oct. 31, when the team travels to Portland for its first look at the Pilots in 2024. First ball is scheduled for 6 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.
