STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's golf team begins postseason play when it travels to compete in the WCC Championships starting on Thursday, April 27, at the Gold Mountain Golf Club.
The Tigers concluded the regular season on Sunday, April 16, at the El Macero Classic, finishing the three-day tournament in 18th place. Griffin Long shined throughout the tournament and moved up five positions on the player leaderboard during the final round, carding a one-over-par 73.
Long finished the tournament in a tie for 52nd place with a five-over-par 221 (73-75-73). The Davis, Calif., native led the Tigers with five birdies during the final round and finished the tournament with a team-high 10.
Haakon Mathiesen led the Tigers last season at the WCC Championships, carding a six-over-par 222 (73-75-74), placing him in a tie for 26th place. Maverick Pavletich and Leonardo Rigamonti also paced the team throughout the tournament at the Reflection Bay Golf Club in Henderson, Nev.
