STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific men's tennis team (4-14, 1-6) fell to the Portland Pilots (10-8, 4-3) this afternoon in a 4-2 final.
The Tigers started strong when it came to the doubles competition. On court #2, junior
Ran Amar and redshirt freshman
Terence Das came out victorious with a 6-3 victory. After dropping the doubles match on court #3, the point came down to court #1 with juniors
Peter Alam and
Andre Rodeia. Alam and Rodeia defeated their opponent in a battle, where they came out on top 7-6.
Pacific could not capitalize in singles, only picking up one point, while Portland picked up four crucial points to complete the comeback. Das was the lone singles winner, defeating his opponent 6-2, 6-2. Freshman
Tiago Silva and junior
Andre Rodeia both took their opponents to three sets. Rodia was tied 4-6, 6-4, 2-2 when the match ended.
The Tigers will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday, April 16, when they host Gonzaga at 11 a.m. The two Pacific seniors,
Manroop Saini and
Coby McCaig will be honored before the match.
