SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Pacific women's track & field team wrapped up the final day of the Mike Fanelli Invitational Saturday afternoon at San Francisco State.
In the long-distance events,
Emily Wernli placed second in her section in the one-mile run with a personal best time of 5:42.21. Competing in the event for the first time in her career, Wernli earned a 19th-place overall finish out of 28 competitors.
Anahi Avila Perez and Briteny Gorioye competed in the two-mile run, earning 11th and 15th place finishes, respectively. Competing in the event for the first time this season, Perez and Gorioye set career highs with times of 12:13.77 and 13:49.81.
Kailey Espinoza shined in the 100 meters, placing first in her section with a personal best time of 13.12. Espinoza, participating in the event for the fifth time this season, surpassed her previous best of 13.54 set at the Westmont Classic by 42 tenths of a second.
In the field events,
Ella Leroy grabbed an 18th-place finish in the high jump while placing 12th in the long jump.
Pacific returns to action on Friday, April 7, as it competes in the Triton Invitational at UC San Diego.
