CLAREMONT, Calif. – The #15 Pacific women's water polo team (13-4) took home four wins from the 2023 Convergence Tournament hosted by Pomona Pitzer.
Saturday's two games saw the Tigers defeat Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (4-6) 15-9 and Mount St. Mary's (8-4) 13-3.
Freshman Dora Alaksza led the scoring front for the Tigers with six goals in the two games; four in the game against the Athenas. Graduate student Lucy Davis and sophomore Hila Futorian weren't far behind with five goals apiece.
Graduate student Brianna Utas found the back of the net four times for the Tigers. Sophomore Szamira Koppány and freshman Noemi Alaksza each scored twice. Sophomore Ilyana Zlobinsky, sophomore Addison McGowan, freshman Alicia Petkov and junior Annikah Lillie each dented the twine once for Pacific.
Zlobinsky had two assists on goals in the game against The Mount, while Davis had one.
Futorian, Noemi and Davis each stole the ball to keep possession with the Tigers. Utas, Noemi, Zlobinsky, Davis and Futorian were all responsible for a drawn exclusion, giving Pacific advantages throughout the day.
The Tigers are back in action next weekend, taking on California Baptist on March 10 at 1 p.m. and #23 Loyola Marymount on March 11 at 11 a.m.
