Tigers Edge California Baptist to Move Win Streak to Six

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The #14 Pacific women's water polo team (14-4) improved its win streak to six after defeating California Baptist 14-11 on Friday afternoon.

"It was great to get our first conference win," said Head Coach James Graham. "It was a team effort, but we had a couple of exceptional performances, including Noemi Alaksza. She really stepped up and played phenomenally on both ends of the pool and was critical to our success today."

Leading the Tigers in scoring was sophomore Hila Futorian with five. Freshman Noemi Alaksza found the back of the net three times for Pacific. Graduate students Brianna Utas and Lucy Davis represented the veterans, scoring two apiece. Sophomores Ilyana Zlobinsky and Szamira Koppány each dented the twine once.

Redshirt senior goalkeeper Clara Vulpisi had four steals to keep the ball in the Tigers' possession. Alaksza added another.

The Tigers are back in action at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, at Loyola Marymount.

"We're excited about our first conference win, and we're looking forward to a tough game tomorrow," said Graham.
