#12 Tigers Host #7 Bulldogs on Youth and Family Day

Stockton, Calif. – The #12 Pacific women's water polo team (17-5, 2-1) hosts #7 Fresno State (11-7, 4-0) at noon on Saturday, March 25. It's Youth and Family Day at the Chris Kjeldsen Pool when the Tigers take on the Bulldogs in this GCC matchup.

The Tigers are 3-3 against the Bulldogs since 2018. Fresno State won the last meeting between the two teams 10-7 in overtime. The Tigers hope to keep their momentum after a successful weekend with multiple wins against GGC opponent Santa Clara, #13 Harvard and #11 Michigan. Those three big wins helped Pacific jump three spots in this week's national poll.

"I'm so proud of what these women accomplished last weekend, and I have no doubt in my mind that if we play that same way and continue to be adaptable, we will be successful," said Head Coach James Graham. "We're looking forward to having some key players back in the pool and playing for the best fans in collegiate water polo."

Sophomore Hila Futorian leads the team in goals scored with 49 and is second for assists with 16. Sophomore Szamira Koppány and freshman Dora Alaksza are second with 46 goals apiece. Graduate student Lucy Davis leads the team in assists with 17. Freshman Alicia Petkov has a dominant shot efficiency of 69% with 30 goals.

Redshirt senior goalkeeper Clara Vulpisi just came off a season-high performance recording a 20-save game in last week's win against #11 Michigan and managed to have a save percentage of 74.1. Vulpisi is fourth in the GCC with 118 saves and second in goals-against with an average of 9.75. She captured GCC player of the week after her 38 saves in the three wins last week.

Hila Futorian is fourth in the GCC with 49 goals and tied for third with 65 points. Teammates sophomore Szamira Koppány (46 goals), freshman Dora Alaksza (46), and graduate student Lucy Davis (36) are all in the GCC's top 10 for goals.

Youth and Family Day will have fun family events leading up to and during the game, including face painting, a food truck, activities and games for everyone to enjoy. Kids 12 and under can get into the game for free. Fans can purchase tickets to the game here, follow along with the live stream here, or live stats here. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive Water Polo U lunchboxes.
