Tigers Play Two on the Road Saturday, Host Home Opener Sunday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The #15 Pacific women's water polo team (14-5, 1-1) is officially done with regular-season tournaments and is diving full force into games against ranked opponents.

The Tigers travel to Santa Clara on Saturday to take on the Broncos (7-12) and the #13 Harvard Crimson (16-2).

"This team has been working day in and day out at practice to get stronger and improve; their tenacity continues to impress me," said Head Coach James Graham. "This will be one of our most challenging weekends yet, and I'm confident these women will give it everything they've got."

Against the Broncos, the Tigers have a 16-7 advantage since 2006. The Tigers won the last nine meetings between the two teams, including their April 2022 matchup, winning 12-9.

Since 2009, the Tigers have won all five matchups with the Crimson. The last time the two teams met was in 2017, and Pacific took home a 9-5 victory. This will be the Tigers' final road game of the regular season.

On Sunday, the Pacific women's water polo program opens its home season by hosting #11 Michigan at 10 a.m. Since 2014, the Wolverines have a 9-5 advantage over the Tigers. The last time the two teams met in 2021, Michigan took a 9-3 victory over Pacific. It's Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day at the Chris Kjeldsen Pool, and there will be a food truck outside the Douglass M. Eberhardt Aquatics Center at 9 a.m.

"We're looking forward to hosting such a strong opponent for our home opener," said Graham. "We're hoping the fans come out and get loud on Sunday and help us open our home season the right way, with a big win."
