ELKHART, Ind. – The Pacific swim teams wrapped up the second day of the National Invitational Championships. The men's team is currently 25th of 41 teams with a score of 93 points, while the women's team is 41st of 51 competing teams with a score of 22.
In the morning session, a couple of Tigers had season-best times in the preliminaries. Ethan Cole swam 1:39.78 in the 200 free and Bridger Sink swam 55.41 in the 100 breast.
Some more great performances in the prelims include the 100 fly. Mitchell Hopper got a time of 48.77 finishing 31st and Caitlin Tan got a time of 55.40, finishing 34th. In the 100 back, Leland Baltazar came in 31st with a time of 49.77.
The evening finals kicked off with the 200 medley relay, where Aidan Scott, Bridger Sink, Aidan Vollmar and Mitchell Hopper all contributed to a time of 1:30.60 to finish 29th. In the same event, the group of Noemi Melendez, Paige Sondgeroth, Caitlin Tan and Alexia Ferguson finished 32nd with a time of 1:43.57.
In the 800 free relay, Aidan Scott, Dylan Parente, Alex Kurotori and Ethan Cole lead the Tigers to a 21st-place finish with a time of 6:45.26.
The final day of events will begin tomorrow with preliminaries at 6:30 a.m. PT and finals at 3 p.m. PT. The link to watch the event is here: https://vimeo.com/event/3135936
