ST. GEORGE, UT. – The Pacific men's and women's swim teams began the MPSF Championships this evening. The only events that held finals were the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay for the men and women.
"We had some big swims on the first day," said Head Coach Katelyne Herrington. "The medley relays were both faster than last year. Our women's 800 free relay was six seconds faster than last year."
In the 200 medley relay, the women's team battled to an eighth-place finish with a time of 1:43.30. On the men's side, the relay finished seventh with a time of 1:30.28.
The women's team had a great showing in the 800 free relay, finishing seventh at 7:30.22. A time of 6:41.03 had the men's team placing eighth.
A full slate of events will kick off tomorrow as the swimmers begin competing at 9 a.m. PT/10 a.m. MT. A live stream of the meets can be purchased on a pay-per-view option found at mpsports.org.
