DAVIS, Calif. – The #11 Pacific women's water polo team (4-1) travels to Davis this weekend for a four-game spout, including facing two-ranked opponents, one being #1.
"This weekend is another great opportunity for us to continue to grow and develop as a team," said Head Coach James Graham.
Game one of the weekend sees Pacific face off against Cal State Monterey Bay (2-4). The Tigers hold a 9-5 advantage over the Otters all time, including a 13-4 win during their last game in 2015. The Tigers have won eight of the last nine in the series.
The second game for the Tigers on Saturday will be against #19 San Jose State (2-7). The two teams split two contests last year, with Pacific winning 8-7 at home and losing in overtime at a neutral site. During last year's home win, sophomore Hila Futorian had two goals and graduate student Lucy Davis had one.
On Sunday, Pacific first takes on the La Verne Leopards (0-2) for the first time since 2007. Pacific has the 14-7 win in the lone matchup between the two teams.
Following the game against the Leopards, Pacific takes on the defending NCAA champion #1 Stanford Cardinal (6-0). Pacific has not faced Stanford since the 2020 season.
"We have several great opponents scheduled, and we look forward to each contest," said Graham. "But we are one hundred percent focused on progress, not perfection and adapting each game to become our best by the end of the season."
