STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's tennis team (1–0) started the Spring 2023 season on a strong note, defeating UC San Diego (3–3) 6–1.

Robin Goodman. This was a real team performance. Everyone contributed and worked hard to get us across the finish line. More than that, it was a ton of fun. The guys enjoy competing, and it showed."
Doubles started strong for the Tigers, as Juniors

Andre Rodeia cruised to a quick 6-2 win. Freshman

Manroop Saini fell to the Tritons 7-5 as the doubles point came down to court #2. Junior

Terence Das downed Phillip Lan and Peyalo Rodriguez in a 7-5 thrilling finish to the doubles point, giving Pacific an early lead.
Pacific nearly swept the singles competition, winning on five of six courts. Starting on court #1, Alam won 7-6, 6-3. On court #2, Amar waltzed his way to a 6-1, 6-0 win to put Pacific up 3-0 early. With one point needed to secure the win, the newcomer, Rodeia, showed up, winning 6-2, 6-3 to clinch the Tiger victory. Silva picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win, while Saini fell 2-6, 6-1, 10-7.
"We also truly appreciate the fans that created the home court atmosphere today," Goodman continued. "It made a difference. We look forward to building on today as we play a tough Sacramento State team tomorrow."
Pacific is back in action tomorrow, at 1 PM, on the road against Sacramento State.
