STOCKTON, Calif. – Two Tigers have been honored by the WCC as the All-Conference teams have been announced.
Brandon Motheral was named to the All-Conference second team after a season in which he led the Tigers in batting average and was tied for 11th in the conference in batting average. Motheral was tied for the team lead second in home runs with seven and was second on the team in total bases with 82. Motheral was the only Tiger to finish the season with a batting average over .300 as he hit .313 to finish the year.
"Brandon did an incredible job adjusting to the D1 level. He was a staple in the middle of the line-up that brought a strong left-handed swing to our line-up," said Head Coach
Chris Rodriguez.
Hunter Schilperoort was named an All-Conference honorable mention after he recorded eight saves during the season, tied for second all-time in a single season for the Tigers. Schilperoort was fourth in the conference in saves and had a save in 57% of the Tiger's wins this season. Schilperoort had 39 strikeouts in 37 innings pitched and had a record of 1-0 on the season.
"Hunter was the go-to guy out of the pen this year. Anytime we had the lead, we wanted him to have the ball! He had a terrific year for us. He will be missed," says Head Coach Rodriguez.
