Box Score PROVO, Utah – The Cougars scored all five runs in the fourth inning and kept the Tigers off the scoreboard in a 5-0 win to complete the series sweep.
The three through six hitters for the Tigers all had one hit. James Arakawa, Thomas Gavello, and James McClenaghan all drew walks.
Marv Guarin started the game, pitching four innings with one strikeout and six hits allowed. Zach Patterson pitched four innings with one strikeout and only two hits allowed.
The Cougars scored all five runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a two-run home run. The Tigers threatened throughout the game but were not able to find a clutch hit to bring a run in. The Tigers had runners on second and third in the seventh after an error, a single and a wild pitch but a strikeout and a foul out kept the Tigers out of the run column.
The Tigers final home game is on Monday, hosting Utah Valley in the final non-conference matchup of the season. The first pitch will be at noon.
