STOCKTON, Calif. – Coming off an exciting win over Fresno State on Tuesday, the Tigers are back home to host Loyola Marymount.
Brandon Motheral continues his strong season, hitting .325 with a .914 OPS, all numbers which lead the team.
Thomas Gavello continued to pull away in power numbers, leading the team in home runs (6), extra-base hits (13), RBI (21) and total bases.
Chaz Myers is tied for the lead in hits (26) and leads in runs (20), at-bats (102) and walks (14).
Hunter Hayes and
Elijah Birdsong are tied for the team lead in strikeouts (29), while Hayes leads the team in innings pitched (34.2).
Nick Swanson leads the team in appearances (14).
Caden Duke leads the team in ERA (1.93).
Gavello is tied for third in the conference in home runs, tied for seventh in RBI and tied for eighth in extra-base hits. Myers is third in plate appearances (126) and HBP (8).
The Lions are 9-18-1 on the season but are 6-3 in the WCC, which is good for fourth in the conference. On Tuesday, Loyola Marymount won its more recent series against Portland last weekend before losing to #15 UCLA.
The Lions have won the past two series between the two teams. The Tigers last won a series in 2018 and are 4-6 against LMU over the past 10 games.
