STOCKTON, Calif. – The Tigers are back on the road this weekend for a WCC matchup with Portland.
Brandon Motheral leads the team in batting average (.321), slugging percentage (.527) and OPS (.906) while being second in home runs (6).
Thomas Gavello leads the team in home runs (7), extra-base hits (17) and RBI (22).
Chaz Myers leads the team in hits (39), doubles (11), OBP (.413) and tied for the lead in at-bats (130) with
Jarron Silva.
Jackson Vaughan leads the team in ERA (2.11).
Hunter Schilperoort leads the team in saves (7) and batting average against (.187).
Nick Swanson leads in appearances (19) and has yet to allow a home run this season.
Hunter Hayes leads the team in innings pitched (46.0) and strikeouts (40).
Gavello is tied for third in home runs and fourth in extra-base hits in the conference. Gavello and Myers are tied for fourth in HBP (9), while Myers is tied for fourth in doubles. Swanson is tied for the conference lead in appearances, and Schilperoort is tied for the lead in saves. The Tigers are tied for second in home runs and are third in doubles as a team.
Portland is 20-15 this season and 7-8 in conference play. The Pilots have lost three of their past four games, taking one of three from Gonzaga last weekend before losing to Oregon in a midweek matchup.
Since joining the WCC, the Tigers are 11-9 against the Pilots, including a 7-2 away record. The Tigers won two of three against Portland the last time the two teams played in Portland.
