STOCKTON, Calif. – The Tigers host UC Davis on Tuesday evening in the two teams' second matchup of the season. The Tigers won the first game, 14-4, at UC Davis.
Chaz Myers had a massive weekend for the Tigers, hitting .471 with nine hits, four doubles, a triple and eight RBI, including six RBI in the Tiger's win over Loyola Marymount.
Brandon Motheral leads the team in batting average (.323) and is second in home runs (6) and total bases (52). Myers leads the team in hits (35), doubles (11), runs scored (24) and walks (14).
Thomas Gavello leads the team in home runs (7), extra-base hits (17) and total bases (61).
Jackson Vaughan leads the Tigers in ERA (1.93) while having the second most appearances (14) and WHIP (1.18).
Hunter Hayes leads the Tigers in starts (8), innings pitched (40.0) and strikeouts (33).
Nick Swanson leads the team in appearances (15) with one start and is one of two Tiger pitchers not to allow a home run this season.
Hunter Schilperoort leads the team in saves (7) and batting average against (.200).
Gavello is tied for second in the WCC in home runs and extra-base hits. Myers is tied for second in the conference in doubles. Gavello and Myers are tied for third in HBP in the conference. Swanson is tied for the conference lead in appearances. Schilperoort is tied for the lead in saves.
The Aggies are 2-14 on the season, but both wins have come in the past four games, with wins over UC Riverside and CSU Bakersfield. Thanks to three RBI games from Gavello,
Caden Duke and
Jacob Weiss, the Tigers beat the Aggies earlier this season. Gavello and Duke both homered in the game.
