Women's Track Competes in West Coast Opener

HAYWARD, Calif. -- The Pacific women's track team competed in the West Coast Opener on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Chabot College.

The Tigers had a successful morning, earning multiple top-five finishes. Aly Milford earned a first-place finish in the 100-meter race with a time of 13.20, while Alex Machado finished right behind in second with a time of 13.99. In her first race of the 2022 season, Milford finished over a second faster than Elizabeth Curtin of Saint Mary's, who earned a third-place finish.

Camryn Scully and Ryanne Molenaar earned podium spots in the 200-meter race as Scully finished in second place with a time of 27.91. Molenaar came right behind in third place with a time of 28.07. Oziomachukwu Okonkwo, the third Tiger to compete in the 200-meter, came in fifth place with a time of 30.26.

Scully, Molenaar, and Okonkwo placed second, third, and fourth later in the 400-meter race. With a time of 1:00.64, Scully set a new program record as she finished the 400-meter race in second place.

Brenna Crump became the first Tiger to compete in a field event, throwing the discus and shot put. Crump earned a first-place finish in both events as she reached the 10.10-meter mark in the shot put and threw 27.07 meters in the women's discus finals.

Pacific returns to action Saturday, March 12, as the Tigers compete in the Aggie Open, hosted by UC Davis.
