STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific volleyball team enters postseason play for the second consecutive season starting on Friday, Dec. 2, as it faces off against Omaha in the first round of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship, hosted at Portland State.

The Tigers (16-13) ended the regular season on a high note, winning three straight matches, including a three-set sweep at San Francisco in the regular-season finale on November 22. In the win over the Dons, Biamba Kabengele, Alexa Edwards, and Darina Kumanova led the team offensively, combining for 32 of the team's 41 kills. Kabengele led the way with 13 kills in 30 total attempts. Kumanova had 10 kills, and Edwards added nine.

Defensively, the Tigers forced the Dons into 17 attack errors and held the team to a .022 hitting percentage.

Omaha ended the Summit League slate with a 20-10 overall record, tying the program's record for the most wins in the team's Division I history. The Mavericks began competing at the Division I level at the start of the 2011 season.

Dominating in its semifinal match during the Summit League Tournament, Omaha earned a 3-1 win over North Dakota State before falling in the championship match to South Dakota in straight sets for the second year in a row.

Shayla McCormick led the Mavericks offensively throughout the season, recording a team-high 402 kills. During the conference tournament, McCormick earned All-Tournament recognition after leading the team with 24 kills and 29 digs in two matches.

McKenna Ruch led the team in blocks during the regular season, tallying a career-high 132. Also earning All-Tournament honors, Ruch totaled seven blocks (one solo block), 14 kills, and three service aces.

Friday's matchup will be the first-ever meeting between Pacific and Omaha.
