Biography
2023 (Fifth-Year Senior)
Earned First-Team All-WCC honors for a second time. Led the WCC in points at 4.38 per set. Ranked second in the WCC in service aces per set (0.39) and kills per set (3.71). Named the MVP of the EWU Invitational at Eastern Washington after leading Pacific to a 3-0 weekend, including winning nine sets without a loss. Had 33 kills with eight blocks on the weekend. Was named WCC Player of the Week for her efforts, which also included 18 kills in the win over UC Davis, giving her a total of 51 on the week. Also had 15 digs and nine blocks on the week.Â
2022 (Senior)
Earned First-Team All-WCC honors. Played 100 sets and appeared in 27 matches. Kabengele was second on the team in kills with a 3.42 kills per set average and ranked second on the team with a career-high 342 kills. 19 times during the season Kabengele had 10 or more kills in a game, including a season-high 27 kills on Oct. 28 at Saint Mary's.
2021 (Junior, Michigan State)
Appeared in 25 matches and played in 87 sets. Was second on the team with a career-high 205 kills and was ranked third on the team in kills per set with 2.86. Tallied 10 or more kills in a match eight times, including a season-high 18 kills at Rutgers on Nov. 5. Recorded 10 or more kills in four-straight games, tallying 54 during that stretch.Â
2020 (Spring, 2021, Sophomore, Michigan State)
In a season altered by COVID-19, appeared in 10 of 15 matches and 29 sets overall, averaging 2.1 kills and 0.6 digs, and hitting .157. Posted a pair of double-digit kill performances at Maryland Feb. 12-13, hitting .267 and averaging 2.88 kills per set against the Terps.  She also had a career-best five-ace performance in the series finale. Finished the Michigan match with season-bests in kills (17) hitting percentage (.310) and digs (three) on Feb. 17. At Iowa, had a combined nine kills, six digs, and five blocks over the two matches March 26-27.
2019 (Freshman, Michigan State)
Played in 23 matches and 70 sets and averaged 2.43 kills (second on the team) and hit .201, adding 0.59 digs and 0.37 blocks per set. Posted double-digit kill totals in each of the last four matches of the season, and was the team's leader in five of the last seven. Made her career debut vs. College of Charleston, picking up a pair of kills in her first action on Aug. 31. Had a big weekend at Western Michigan (Sept. 20-21), earning All-Tournament Team honors after twice establishing new season bests in kills and averaging 3.64 kills, hitting .333, and adding 0.55 digs and 0.27 blocks per set. Came off the bench at Maryland to post three of her four kills in the fifth set, finishing with four and a dig on Oct. 5, and had three kills and a dig in a start at Nebraska on Oct. 11.
High School
Before her time with the Spartans, Kabengele shined at Corpus Christi Catholic High School in Burlington, Ontario, where she earned multiple honors throughout her career. After her junior season, Kabengele was named Corpus Christi Catholic Secondary School Junior Female Athlete of the Year and Corpus Christi Catholic Secondary School senior volleyball Most Valuable Player. In 2017, Kabengele led the Longhorns to the Ontario All-Catholic and the Ontario OFSAA titles.
