STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's basketball team concludes its four-game homestand on Monday, Nov. 28, facing off against Cal Poly at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
The Tigers (2-4), coming off a matchup against Idaho last Friday in the final game of the California Thanksgiving Jam, were led by Donovan Williams' career-high 19 points. Williams, who ranks second on the team in scoring average with 12.8 points per game, was near perfect from the charity stripe, tallying a career-high 11 free throws. The junior from Rockford, Ill., came alive in the final 20 minutes of play, pacing the team with 11 second-half points.
Tyler Beard, Luke Avdalovic, and Jordan Ivy-Curry combined for 38 points as members of the starting lineup, while Cam Denson scored 10 points off the bench.
In the team's first contest of the week, Pacific faces off against Cal Poly for the 48th time in program history. The Mustangs (2-3) enter Monday's contest coming off an 82-71 home win over Idaho that saw four team members score in double figures.
Alimamy Koroma leads the Mustangs offensively, scoring 14 points per game while being a staple on the defensive side of the ball, tallying a team-high four blocks. Trevon Taylor has been established as the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 11.2 points per game while shooting at a 45 percent (18-for-40) clip.
The Tigers hold a 34-14 advantage over the Mustangs in the all-time series, with 19 wins coming at home. The last time the Tigers dropped a home game to the Mustangs was on January 6, 2011, in a narrow 43-39 Big West Conference decision at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
Pacific earned the win in the last meeting on November 30, 2013, defeating Cal Poly, 73-71, at the Global Sports Hardwood Challenge at the Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Ore.
