STOCKTON, Calif. – The #3 Pacific men's water polo team (17-4, 2-0) hosts #11 UC Irvine (12-9, 1-1) for its last home game of the season on Friday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m.
The Tigers, who started the season at #5 in the CWPA poll, have been ranked #4 in the country since September 21. This week, the team moved to the nation's third spot, trailing only behind UCLA and Cal. The Anteaters dropped from #8 to #11. All six Golden Coast Conference teams are in the top 14 of the poll.
The Tigers have a 10-1 record against the Anteaters since 2015.
Friday's game will serve as senior night and Pacific's third Golden Coast conference match this season. For fans wanting to enjoy the senior day ceremony, please ensure you are inside the Chris Kjeldsen Pool by 6:30 p.m.
Following Friday's game, the Tigers head to #7 UC Davis on Sunday, Oct. 30, for their next game at noon.
The Tigers are 17-9 against the Aggies since 2005, winning 11 of the last 13 games.
Pacific has five players in the GCC's top 10 in goal scoring, led by senior Matthew Hosmer with 45. He is third in the GCC. He is joined by senior Bogdan Djerkovic (43) in a three-way tie for fourth, sophomore Mihailo Vukazic (42) in seventh, and senior co-captain Jeremie Cote and sophomore co-captain Reuel D'Souza (38) tied for eighth.
D'Souza is fourth in the GCC in assists with 27 and third in the conference in overall points with 65. Vukazic is right behind him, fourth with 64 points.
Graduate student goalkeeper Bae Fountain leads the GCC in saves with 162; 23 ahead of second place.
