SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- The Pacific women's track team, competing in its first meet of the season, took part in the On Your Marks Open at Westmont College.
 
A few Tigers competed in the meet as Ella Leroy earned a first-place finish in the 600-meter run. Leroy, who finished just under four seconds faster than the second-place finisher with a time of 1:47.82, achieved a new school record. Leroy also competed in the 1000-meter run, earning a third-place finish with a time of 3:25.01.
 
Sophie Pazzo was the featured Tiger in the long-distance races in the meet, competing in the 5000-meter run. Pazzo shaved off over eight minutes off her time in last season's meet and earned a fourth-place finish with a time of 11:12.32.
 
Emma Winkler and Dalee Higgins also competed in the 5000-meter run but did not post times.
 
Pacific returns to action Saturday, Feb. 12, as the Tigers return to Westmont College to compete in the Sunshine Invite.
