STOCKTON, Calif. - The University of the Pacific women's swimming team started its 2021-22 season with a dual meet victory over Cal State East Bay at the Chris Kjeldsen Pool on Saturday. To secure the victory, Pacific was victorious in 11 of 14 races.
 
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS
The Tigers got three of the wins from freshman 
Ellie Macphail in her Pacific debut. She was the first to the wall in the 500 (5:09.76) and 1000-yard freestyle (10:43.83) and the 200 yard individual medley (2:12.18).

Kelsey Lloyd swept the breaststroke events, winning the 100 (1:05.56) and 200-yard backstroke (2:23.40). 
• Freshman 
Noemi Melendez won the 200-yard butterfly (2:10.11) 
 
• Freshman 
Jordyn Gonzales in the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.44).
 
• Senior 
Lauren Geiger won the 100-yard backstroke (59.33).
 
• Sophomore 
Caitlin Tan won the 100-yard butterfly (57.97) 
 
• Freshman 
Ashtyne Topie won the 50-yard freestyle (23.49).
RELAY EVENTS
• The Tigers started the meet with a win on the 200-yard medley relay consisting of 
Jordyn Gonzales, 
Kelsey Lloyd, 
Noemi Melendez and 
Allie Emery in a time of 1:47.22.
• The exhibition team of 
Lauren Geiger, 
Allie Emery, 
Alexia Ferguson and 
Ellie Macphail won the 200-yard freestyle relay to end the meet.
