Pacific Men's Swimming Takes Second at UNLV Invite

LAS VEGAS, Nevada - The Pacific men's swimming team took second at the UNLV Invite with 753 points. The host Rebels won the meet with 1,348 points.

Individual Events:
Mitchell Hopper finished second in the 200-yard IM (1:51.16) as teammates Aidan Vollmar (6th, 1:52.37) and Aidan Scott (7th, 1:53.29). Alex Young, on Sunday, was third in the 1650-yard freestyle (16:47.31) to lead the Tigers. Aidan Vulgas (5th, 17:05.51) and Nicholas Cisco (6th, 17:08.85). Pacific swept second through fourth in the 200-yard backstroke as Aidan Scott was the second to the wall in 1:49.17. Teammates Alex Kurotori and Walker Wilson were third (1:50.93) and fourth (1:58.92), respectively.
 
Alex Kurotori and Dylan Parente were third (1:39.96) and fourth (1:40.44) in the 200-yard freestyle. Plus, Logan Heaney was ninth overall and the winner of the B final in 1:45.60. 
 
David Noyes led the Tigers with a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (48.78) and Mitchell Hopper was seventh in 49.58. AJ Dolan was eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.48). Kurotori, on Friday, was seventh in the 500-yard freestyle (4:41.27). Teammates Alex Young and Nicholas Cisco were ninth (4:43.87) and 10th (4:44.95), respectively. 
 
Pacific picked up a sixth-place finish from Aidan Scott in the 100-yard backstroke (51.02), followed by a seventh-place performance by Walker Wilson in a time of 51.86. Plus, teammate Winston Fong was ninth overall and the winner of the B final in a 54.56.
 
The Tigers had the top three finishers in the B final – Aidan Vulgas (9th, 4:10.43), Jonathan Tan (10th, 4:10.53) and Nick Cisco (11th, 4:14.37). Leland Baltzaar and Alex Young were 10th (50.28) and 12th (51.30), respectively in the 100-yard butterfly.
 
Relay Events
On Saturday, Aidan Scott, Aidan Vollmar, Mitchell Hopper and Dylan Parente finished fourth in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:31.52. The Tigers (Dylan Parente, Alex Kurotori, David Noyes and Mitchell Hopper) were also fourth in the 800-yard freestyle relay in a time of 6:45.31). On Friday, the team of Leland Baltazar, Aidan Vollmar, David Noyes and Dylan Parente were fourth in the 400-yard medley in a time of 3:19.94.

Pacific began the meet with a fifth place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay as the team of Dylan Parente, David Noyes, Mitchell Hopper and Leland Batazar finished in 1:22.38.
