SAN JOSE, Calif. – The University of the Pacific men's and women's swimming and diving program return to competition Saturday for a tri-meet against host San Jose State and UC Santa Cruz at noon at the Spartan Recreation and Aquatic Center in San Jose.

The Tigers look to build on their success at the PAC Invite earlier this month, where both programs captured team titles at the Douglass M. Eberhardt Aquatics Center.

Last season, the Pacific women defeated the Banana Slugs, 191-102, for their fourth consecutive victory over the Banana Slugs, but fell 162-127 to the Spartans.

Christina Agiomamitou led the Tigers with victories in the 500 and 1,000 freestyle events, while Annelise Thomas and Josephine Fields added individual wins that year.

On the men's side, Pacific narrowly fell 144-143 to UC Santa Cruz in a meet decided by the final relay. Nate Rasmussen led the Tigers with victories in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events, while Alexis Iacovides won the 100 backstroke.

Diving will make its first appearance of the season. Gabriel Martinez is set to make his debut in diving for the men's side this weekend.

Pacific seeks to carry over its momentum from the first swim meet of the year into Saturday's tilt. Live scoring will follow on the Meet Mobile app.
