SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference officially announced the 2020 West Coast Conference Men's Tennis All-Academic Team Friday morning.
Pacific teammates
Akram El Sallaly and
Nathan Hampton, who both were WCC All-Academic Team selections in 2019, earned a spot on the team for the second consecutive year.
Alongside these Tigers,
Philip Hjorth,
John Horoz Garner,
Toi Kobayashi,
Manroop Saini,
Levent Sever and
Ross Watson were named WCC All-Academic Honorable Mentions.
Overall, UOP led the conference with eight All-Academic selections in 2020, with Saint Mary's and Gonzaga tied for second with six selections each.
In addition, 23 of the 45 nominated student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.50 or better while 13 achieved a 3.75 GPA or above.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team.
