Biography

2018-19 (Junior):
All-WCC Doubles Second Team
WCC All-Academic Team

Went 9-9 in singles play and 8-10 in doubles play. Posted a 7-7 record on court four and went 2-1 on court five. El Sallaly played his best tennis in doubles with Tadiwa Chinamo. The two went 7-7 overall and 4-5 in the WCC. They pulled off big wins over a nationally-ranked duo from BYU and then upset another nationally-ranked doubles team from Gonzaga. Their seven wins in doubles was the most of any Tiger duo this season. 

2017-18 (Sophomore):
El Sallaly partnered up with Bernardo Oliveira for doubles most of the season. In the fall, El Sallaly and Oliveira won the Battle in the Bay Tournament in doubles with an 8-7 (6) tie break win over Anders Holm and Nicolas Moreno de Alboran. Akram partnered alongside John Horoz Garner and Ross Watson to go 2-4. With Oliveira, he finished 4-7 in doubles and they grabbed the highest national ranking at #24 for Pacific (2/7/18).  In No. 4 singles, El Sallaly went 4-8 and finished 5-15 overall. El Sallaly earned WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention honors.

2016-17 (Freshman)
Akram proved to be a strong player for Pacific as he competed in 24 of the 25 matches during the 2016-17 season.  In singles play, he finished with a 9-10 record overall and 1-5 in the WCC splitting time between the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 spots.  In doubles, Akram teamed up with Tadiwa Chinamo for 14 matches and finished with an overall record of 6-8 and a WCC record of 4-4.  The duo recevied WCC Doubles Team of the Week twice during the season and received All-WCC Doubles Honorable Mention honors.

High School:
El Sallaly competed with the Nefertari American International School in high school.  He received high honors while there. Before coming to Pacific, he had three professional singles wins and six doubles wins, with professional points earned in both categories.

Personal:
Akram is the son of Amr and Hoda.  He has one older brother, Yehia, who earned Magna Cum Laude honors while competing with SLU.  Akram enjoys listening to music and watching movies in his free time.
