McCaig Clinches Tigers' First Dual Win

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's tennis team battled the windy conditions at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center on Sunday morning, winning the doubles points and continuing the momentum in singles play to claim a 4-2 early-morning win over Grand Canyon.

Doubles Singles
  • El Sallaly and Watson each took 3-0 first-set leads on courts three and one, respectively.
  • Chinamo was the first Tiger to clinch a singles point, winning 6-1, 6-1 on four over David Weber.
  • El Sallaly ended up winning the first set in a dominant 6-0 fashion, taking his match 6-0, 6-2 from GCU's Freddie Grant.
  • Coby McCaig finished off the dual win with a hard-fought 6-3, 7-5 win on six.
What Coach Palacio Said:
  • "It was a great win for the guys today under some of the worst conditions. They were tested mentally and came up big as a team. It was a huge moment for our freshman Coby McCaig to get the clinch point! Looking forward to next weekend here at home."
Up Next:
