Tigers Drop Decision to Broncos at Eve Zimmerman

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's tennis team had a tough go in a fight with Boise State on Saturday afternoon, as the Tigers (1-5) fell 1-6 to the Broncos at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
 
Doubles
  • Pacific dropped the doubles point despite Akram El Sallaly and Tadiwa Chinamo being knotted at five with Boise State's Blake Bayldon and Simon Arca Costas. 
Singles
  • Philip Hjorth and Chinamo went three sets on one and three, respectively, with Chinamo pulling out the Tigers' lone singles win in a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 decision. 
  • Hjorth pulled ahead with a 6-4 win in set one, but fought to the end of his match on one.
  • Freshmen Coby McCaig and Toi Kobayashi each put up challenges on four and six, each taking their second sets to 6-7. 
Up Next:
  • Pacific will battle UC Irvine tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. before heading back out on the road for a February 22 match at UC Santa Barbara.
