STOCKTON, Calif. - After seeing Friday's game against Fresno State postponed due to a courier-related delay in COVID-19 testing results, the Pacific men's basketball team will embark on their first road trip of the season as they head to Reno on Monday to take on the Nevada Wolf Pack.

STRONG FIRST IMPRESSION:
- Getting his first start in the Orange & Black, redshirt junior Nigel Shadd played 20 total minutes, tallying 4 points, 5 rebounds and 1 block in his Tiger debut against UC Riverside last Wednesday.
- Grad transfer Jordan Bell, who spent the last two seasons at WCC foe Loyola Marymount, came up clutch for Pacific down the stretch, notching 5 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal in his first game with UOP.
- Senior Jervay Green, who comes to Stockton after a year at Nebraska, also pulled down one rebound in nine minutes of game action against the Highlanders.Â
THINGS TO KNOW:
- Monday evening's matchup in Reno will mark Pacific's first trip to the Lawlor Events Center since Nov. 9, 2018, as the Tigers will be seeking their first win over Nevada since Dec. 18, 2014. The team's renew a long-time regional rivalry after taking the 2019-20 season off.
- Prior to their postponement on Friday, Pacific took down UC Riverside in its season opener on Wednesday by a 66-60 final on the strength of a career-high 25 points from forward Jeremiah Bailey. With the win, the Tigers moved to 5-0 in season openers under head coach Damon Stoudamire.
- The Wolf Pack opened the 2020-21 season at the Golden Window Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska last Wednesday and Thursday, taking down North Dakota State and Nebraska respectively. After opening with a 62-48 win over the Bison, Nevada held on for a 69-66 win over the Cornhuskers on Thursday behind a game-high 19 points from sophomore guard Grant Sherfield and 18 points from junior guard Desmond Cambridge Jr.Â
- Overall, Pacific is 53-48 all-time versus Nevada and 18-32 all-time in Reno. Â
SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK:
- Nevada is retooling after losing their top three leading scorers from last season in Jalen Harris, Jazz Johnson and Lindsey Drew.Â
- Second-year head coach Steve Alford guided the Wolf Pack to a 19-12 record in his first season back in the Mountain West after serving as the head coach of New Mexico from 2007-2013. Prior to coming to Nevada, Alford was the head coach at UCLA from 2013-2018. In 29 seasons as a head coach, Alford owns a career record of 606-310 as well as a winning percentage of 66.2. As a whole, he is the 16th active NCAA Division-I coach to reach the 600-win mark.
- In two games played, Sherfield has paced the offense for the Wolfpack, averaging 16.0 points and 5.0 assists per game while sophomore forward Kwamé Hymes Jr. sits second on the team with an average of 9.5 points per game. On the glass, junior Robby Robinson has pulled down 9.5 rebounds per game. Â
