SPOKANE, Wash. – The Pacific men's basketball team (15-7, 3-3) will face their toughest test of the season so far as the they look to get back on track in a Saturday night matchup at No. 2/1 Gonzaga (20-1, 6-0).
After dropping back-to-back games at Santa Clara and at home vs. BYU, the Tigers are aiming for their first victory since a 65-55 win over Portland on Jan. 16.

LAST TIME OUT:
- Pacific fell to BYU, 74-60, on Thursday, Jan. 23 at the Alex G. Spanos Center. After a back-and-forth first half, the Tigers could not find any momentum in the final twenty minutes as the Cougars caught fire and used a 21-0 run to take the lead for good.
- Despite the loss, senior Jahlil Tripp was named the City of Stockton Human Resources Hardworking Player of the game after recording his seventh double-double of the season, finishing with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals and one assist.
- Junior James Hampshire also flirted with a double-double by tallying 8 points and 9 rebounds for UOP.
- The Tigers led the Cougars in points off turnovers (11-8), second chance points (11-2), bench points (23-4) and points in the paint (40-34).
THINGS TO KNOW:
- Pacific leads the WCC in scoring defense (64.2), field goal percentage defense (40.3), rebounding defense (28.0) and defensive rebound percentage (.801). The Tigers are also second in the conference and eighth in Division-I with a +9.0 rebounding margin.
- Tripp has scored double-figures in 17 games this season, averaging a team-leading 15.5 points per game, which ranks seventh in the WCC. Justin Moore has scored double-figures in 11 of his 18 games played this season, averaging 9.6 points per game.
- Pacific continues to be a threat from behind-the-arc this season as graduate transfer Gary Chivichyan is sixth in the WCC in three-point field goals made per game (2.1) and fourteenth in three-point percentage with a 39.5 percent clip.
- Pierre Crockrell II is impressing in her first season in Stockton as the freshman point guard is currently first in the conference in assist/turnover ratio (4.2) and ninth in assists per game (3.8).
SCOUTING THE ZAGS:
- Saturday's matchup marks the 18th all-time meeting between Gonzaga and Pacific. The Zags have won 16 of the previous 17 matchups in the series, including the last 14 straight. Overall, Gonzaga has won all six meetings in Spokane. The Tigers lone victory in the series came in Stockton in 1976, 70-60.
- Gonzaga currently sports the third-longest active winning streak in Division-I with 12 straight on top of holding the nation's longest home winning streak with 35 straight wins at the McCarthey Center.
- This past week, the Bulldogs took down BYU for their 33rd consecutive WCC victory, setting a new conference record.
- Gonzaga's Corey Kispert was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week after averaging 17.5 points on 50 percent shooting from the field last week. Kispert is currently 10th in the WCC averaging 14.4 points per game. His 53 made three-pointers this season ranks second in the conference.
- The nationally-ranked Bulldogs lead the WCC in numerous categories on both sides of the ball: scoring offense (88.8), scoring margin (+22.0), field goal percentage (.506), rebounding margin (+10.0), assists (18.2), steals (7.9), turnover margin (+3.3) and assist/turnover ratio (1.6)
