STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's basketball team (14-5, 2-1) looks to get back in the win column when they face the University of Portland on Thursday night at the Chiles Center.
In their first road contest since Jan. 2, the Tigers also aim to push their winning streak to six straight over the Pilots.

LAST TIME OUT:
- Following a marathon 4OT victory over Saint Mary's on Jan. 4, the Tigers fell to San Francisco, 79-75, on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
- Pacific struggled to cool down the Dons from the get-go as USF finished the game shooting 50.9 percent overall from the floor.
- Sophomore Jahbril Price-Noel was named the City of Stockton Human Resources Hardworking Player of the Game after catching fire for the second straight contest, finishing with new career-highs in points (20), rebounds (8) and three-pointers made (3) while also adding one steal.
- Senior Jahlil Tripp also poured in 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two assists for Pacific while graduate transfer Gary Chivichyan tallied 10 points.
- The Tigers finished with more assists (14-9), steals (6-3) and blocks (4-2) than the Dons.
THINGS TO KNOW:
- Pacific boasts the top defense in the WCC, only allowing 63.2 points per game to opponents. Furthermore, they also possess the conference's best field goal percentage defense, holding their counterparts to shooting just 39.3 percent from the floor.
- The Tigers also dominate on the boards, leading the conference in rebounding margin with a +9.8 mark.
- Tripp, a Brooklyn, NY native, is guiding Pacific to one of their most successful seasons in years. In his third year with the Tigers, he continues to put together an all-conference season, currently leading Pacific in points per game (14.7), rebounds (8.2), steals (1.4) and minutes played (29.5). Additionally, the 6'5" guard is tied for first in the WCC in rebounding while also placing fifth in the conference in steals and ninth in scoring.
- Junior James Hampshire ranks second in the conference with 24 total blocks and an average of 1.3 per game.
SCOUTING THE PILOTS:
- Portland recently fell to BYU, 90-76, on Saturday, Jan. 11. The Pilots are 1-2 in conference play, having lost to the Cougars and No. 1 Gonzaga while also defeating San Francisco, 76-65, on Jan. 4.
- Overall, Portland ranks eighth in scoring offense in the WCC (69.1) and seventh in scoring defense (68.3).
- Just like the Tigers, the Pilots are stingy on the defensive end, holding their opponents to 41.3 percent shooting from the field on the season.
- Portland sports the fourth-best three-point shooting percentage in the conference, coming into the matchup with a 37.9 percent clip on the year.
- Senior Isaiah White is the leading scorer for the Pilots, averaging 13.0 points per game, good for fifteenth in the WCC.
- The Pilots also possess two other versatile playmakers in junior Tahirou Diabate, who is sixth in the conference in field goal percentage (54.8), and Chase Adams, who is seventh in assists (3.9)
