STOCKON, Calif. – The Pacific men's soccer team snagged its second win and first shutout of on the season Monday night, when it defeated visiting CSU Baskerfield, 1-0, at Knoles Field.
The Tigers improve to 2-3 on the season, while the Roadrunners fall to 1-5.
In Case You Missed It
- Both the Tigers and Roadrunners were scoreless through the first half, with Pacific out-shooting CSU Bakersfield 11-2.
- Pacific came its closest to scoring in the 29th minute when Diego Villapudua sent a ball from beyond the box towards the goal. Villapudua's ball hit the post, which fellow Tiger Anthony Orendain headed back towards the goal, hitting the post once more. Johnatan Rico-Contreres then picked up that rebound before sending a shot sailing over the goal.
- In the first 20 minutes of the second half, Pacific took nine shots, three on-goal, and was awarded three corner kicks.
- At 65:41 Orendain recorded his second game-winning goal of the season after finishing on his own shot that rebounded of a block by a CSUB defender.
- The Roadrunners nearly tied the game up on a shot in the 72nd minute, but Tiger keeper Ethan Bandre had his second and final save on the night.
- Pacific controlled the remainder of the half and held on the for the 1-0 victory.

- Orendain finished with a team-high six shots, one of which was on goal.
- Ryan Her and Rico-Contreres each had four shots, while Brady Graff and Derick Roque tallied two shots on the night.
