Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Tigers Blank Aggies

STOCKON, Calif. – The Pacific men's soccer team claimed its second-consecutive shutout victory when it defeated UC Davis, 2-0, on Thursday night at Knoles Field.

The Tigers improve to 3-3 on the season, while the Aggies fall to 3-3-1.

In Case You Missed It

  • Pacific held the edge in shots taken, 11-5, in the first half.
  • Anthony Orendain, who scored the game winner in the Tigers wins over San Jose State and CSU Bakersfield led the charge with three shots, one on goal.
  • It started to look as though the first half would be scoreless, but following touches from Emory Rapaport and Tariq Branche, freshman forward Derick Roque scored his first career goal in the 38th minute.
  • With less than a minute remaining in the first half, UCD's Kaleb Schirmacher took a shot at evening the score, but Tiger keeper Ethan Bandre came up with his third save of the half.
  • There was very little offensive action to start the second half, but at 54:18 the Aggies took three-consecutive shots, two of which hit the post to put some pressure on the Tigers defense.
  • Pacific extended its lead in the 72nd minute when Branche secured his first goal of the season. Once again Rapaport started the play, passing the ball up the left side of the field to Rico-Contreres. Rico-Contreres then passed it over the head of a defender and down the left line to Branch, who beat his defender and slipped the ball past the Aggies goalkeeper to the bottom right side of the net.
  • Branche finished with three shots on the night, while Andreas Charalambous, Ryan Her, and Roque each took two shots.
