The Tigers enter the weekend 14-21 overall and 5-10 in West Coast Conference play.
Catcher James Free leads the offense with 20 RBI and six home runs in 40 hits. Free holds a .320 batting average and has scored 21 runs for the Orange and Black. Matthew Tarantino is right behind with 17 RBI and leads the team with 12 doubles. Tarantino owns a .258 batting average and has one home run and 15 runs.
On the mound, Shelby Lackey has made 11 appearances with nine starts. In 49.0 innings pitched, Lackey has 46 strikeouts and is 3-3 on the season. Ricky Reynoso has pitched 50.2 innings with 34 strikeouts. Reynoso has recorded a 3.73 ERA in all nine starts and appearances on the mound. Cooper Casad rounds out the starters and leads the pitching crew with a 2.54 ERA. Casad has made 13 appearances with five starts and has three saves with a 3-3 record. Casad has registered 34 strikeouts in 46.0 innings pitched.
The Gaels come to Klein Family Field with a 19-16 record overall and 8-7 in WCC action.
Kevin Milam leads the team in batting average with a .279 with 34 hits in 122 at-bats. Milam has notched 18 RBI, three home runs, seven doubles and 17 runs scored. Jackson Thoreson and Edward Haus lead the offense with 19 RBI each. Thoreson holds a .262 batting average with 32 hits, four home runs, 10 doubles, and 25 runs scored. Haus owns a .259 batting average and has tallied 36 hits in 139 at-bats with seven doubles and nine runs.
On the mound, Milam has notched a 2.80 ERA and is 5-2 on the season. In nine appearances, Milam has made eight starts with 44 strikeouts in 54.2 innings pitched. Saturday's starter, Ken Waldichuk leads the pitching staff with a 1.15 ERA. In 62.2 innings pitched, Waldichuk has 83 strikeouts against just 14 walks and eight earned runs. He has started in all nine appearances for the Gaels. Nick Frank rounds out the starters with a 3.99 ERA and a 2-4 record. Frank has pitched 56.1 innings with 63 strikeouts.
Following the weekend, the Tigers head out on a four-game road stretch starting at Stanford University on Tuesday, April 24 with first pitch set for 6:05 p.m.
