Azusa, Calif. - The Pacific distance runners took to the track at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Cougar Stadium on the Azusa Pacific campus on Thursday night, with Mia Knipper (Morada, Calif.) pacing the Tigers in the 5K while Lindsay Wourms (Camas, Wash.) fell just short of her steeplechase mark. Elsewhere, Becky Grabow (Carson City, Nev.) represented the Tigers at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays 10000m race in Norwalk, Calif.
Knipper crossed in a time of 18:12.55, her second best career time, short of her 17:46.27 at the SF State Distance Carnival on April 1st, but above her time of 18:15.55 at the Johnny Mathis Invitationl in Feburary. Haley Silva (Manteca, Calif.) finished in 19:40.11 to round out the Tiger contingent. In the 3000m steeplechase, Wourms crossed the finish in 11:20.75, again besting her 11:28.68 mark set at the Hornet Invitational on March 18th while falling just short of her 11:18.00 at the SF State Distance Carnival.
Grabow, competing in the 10000m at the Mt. SAC Relays, finished in a time of 38:06.42, competing in a crowded field filled with some of the best collegiate runners in the nation. The mark was just shy of her 37:20.28 mark at the 2015 WCC Last Chance Meet in San Francisco.
