Turlock, Calif. - The Pacific Track and Field team battled through rainy, wet conditions at the Kim Duyst Invitational on the Stanislaus State campus on Saturday, finishing seventh overall amongst four-year schools in the meet, and tenth place overall.
Jasmine Jenkins (San Ramon, Calif.) set a new personal and school record in the shot put, eclipsing her 9.34m mark last weekend with a 9.59m performance on Saturday. Jenkins also posted a 4.31 in the long jump. In the discus throw, Monica Kott (Orange, Calif.) established a new school high with a 24.51m mark while Jenkins posted a 21.84m performance.
Pacific's distance contingent ran in the 1500m distance on Saturday with Becky Grabow (Carson City, Nev.) leading the way with a time of 4:57.64, good for fourth overall amongst non-CCAA finishers. Mia Knipper (Morada, Calif.) crossed in eighth, with a time of 5:05.04.
Katelyn Breitschwerdt (Monrovia, Calif.) finished in 5:15.88 while Erica Ramos (Stockton, Calif.) and Haley Silva (Manteca, Calif.) crossed the finish line in 5:17.58 and 5:23.54, respectively.
In the 100m dash, Ebony Ezeji (Stockton, Calif.) finished in a time of 14.10 while Lena Perry (Chatsworth, Calif.), followed in 14.24, Jenkins and Samia Adam (Santa Clara, Calif.), finished in 14.58 and 15.49 to round out the Tiger contingent. In the 400m dash, Shayda Ansari (Newbury Park, Calif.) posted a time of 66.74 while Lauren Nakaso (San Ramon, Calif.) and Sandra Padilla (San Jose, Calif.) passed the finish line in 66.96 and 70.29, respectively.
Ramos was the lone entrant in the 800m for the Tigers, finishing with a time of 2:31.79, while Lindsay Wourms (Camas, Wash.) raced in the 3000m steeplechase for the consecutive weekend, crossing in 11:29.66. In the 4x100 meter relay race, the team of Jessica Fogel (Northridge, Calif.), Perry, Ezeji and Jenkins finished in 53.59.
