San Diego, Calif. – The Pacific women's tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision on Wednesday, April 22 against San Diego at the West Coast Conference Championships. The Tigers finish the season 8-13 overall, while San Diego improved to 4-14 overall.
"Today unfortunately puts an end to our season," said Head Coach Charlotte Scatliffe. "The ladies have a lot to be proud of and fought through a lot of adversity this season. Even being down three players we were still able to win the doubles point and push an improved San Diego team in every spot of the lineup to the very end."
The Tigers took the doubles point with wins by partners Hana Ritterova and Iveta Masarova, and Regina Suarez and Cristina Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz at No. 1 and No. 3. Daria Labintseva secured a point in singles, defeating San Diego's Janine Koleta 6-4 and 6-2 at No. 6, but the Toreros took the match victory.
